Last month we gave you four reasons you should remodel your bathroom. This month, we’ll help those of you looking for reasons to remodel your kitchen. Like most remodeling throughout your home, it won’t give you 100% return on investment, but it will provide some return, so not surprisingly, selling your home is not a good reason to remodel your kitchen. Here are the top three reasons from some of our NARI kitchen remodelers.
The Space Doesn’t Work for You
Whether you bought the home knowing that you’d eventually contact kitchen remodelers about a different layout or your family has changed, if the space no longer works for you, you should consider remodeling. For some, their family has grown and they need more seating. If you are now an empty nester and you’ve turned into a foodie and want a chef style kitchen, then the space doesn’t work for you and you should remodel.
Appliances and Cabinets are Failing
This is perhaps one of the most common reason NARI kitchen remodelers gave us from their customers. When drawers stop opening easily or won’t close all the way and your cabinet shelves won’t stay up, you have the perfect excuse to remodel your kitchen. If the issue is with your appliances, you can replace those, however, you may not find what you want that fits into your existing space.
The Layout is All Wrong
Depending on the age of your kitchen, the layout may not be ideal. Countertops space may be too broken up to be useful, especially if you cook from scratch. There may be outlets outlets or space for your countertop appliances. Convenience cooks who microwave a lot may not have a large enough freezer and can’t get a larger one because of the opening between the cabinets. If you find yourself frustrated moving between the stove, sink and refrigerator, you need a new layout.
NARI kitchen remodelers are different from general contractors. They have the knowledge and experience to help you design a kitchen that works for you.
